E-commerce development company in India for D2C, B2B, and marketplace builds

Xenotix Labs is an e-commerce development company in India that ships custom shopping platforms — not Shopify themes, not WooCommerce templates. Our e-commerce work covers D2C brands (Nursery Wallah, Bhaw Bhaw, Swaadm), niche category leaders (Axmile bike parts with dynamic per-bike-model UI, Bhaw Bhaw pet products), subscription commerce (Veda Milk, Prepe), and B2B / marketplace platforms (Eazybizzy, My Shaadi Store).

The reason founders pick custom over Shopify is simple: when your business model has a non-standard shape (subscription, multi-vendor, hyper-local delivery, custom-box configurator, geo-priced catalog, regulated category), template platforms force you to bend your model to their constraints. Our custom Next.js + Node.js + PostgreSQL stack means your storefront, checkout, catalog, and admin reflect your business — not the other way around.

For D2C founders evaluating an e-commerce development agency: ask the team to show you their checkout flow on production. We will. Nursery Wallah ships a regional delivery model. Veda Milk ships recurring subscriptions with cold-chain delivery. Axmile ships a per-bike-model catalog where the entire homepage adapts. Each is a custom architectural decision. Each survived launch.

Tech stack reasoning

Why we ship e-commerce on Next.js + Node.js + PostgreSQL + RabbitMQ

For D2C and marketplace e-commerce, our stack is Next.js storefront (SSR + ISR for catalog pages), Node.js + PostgreSQL backend, RabbitMQ for order/notification flows, S3 + CloudFront for images, Stripe / Razorpay / PhonePe for payments. This stack lets us hit Lighthouse 90+ on category pages (which is critical for SEO-driven D2C) while supporting custom checkout flows that template platforms cannot.

PostgreSQL is non-negotiable for e-commerce. Inventory, orders, payments, refunds — these are transactional, relational, and must survive concurrent writes under traffic. We have seen Mongo-backed e-commerce stacks fail to maintain inventory consistency under flash-sale traffic. Postgres with proper transaction boundaries does not.

RabbitMQ handles the post-checkout side: send-order-email, notify-vendor, update-inventory, schedule-fulfillment, generate-invoice. Each is an independent job. If the email service is down, the order still goes through; the email retries. Our Veda Milk subscription engine runs on this pattern — at 10 PM IST nightly, RabbitMQ generates next-day orders for every active subscription.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about e-commerce development services

Should I build custom or use Shopify / WooCommerce?

Use Shopify when your business model fits its template (single-vendor, single-currency, simple subscription, standard payments). Build custom when it does not — multi-vendor, hyperlocal, custom configurator, regulated, or non-standard subscription. We have built both kinds; we will tell you which fits.

How much does custom e-commerce development cost in India?

D2C storefront: ₹6-12 lakh. Subscription commerce: ₹12-25 lakh. Multi-vendor marketplace: ₹20-50 lakh. Custom platform: ₹25-70 lakh+. Tier breakdown above.

How long does e-commerce development take?

D2C storefront: 6-10 weeks. Subscription: 10-16 weeks. Marketplace: 4-7 months. Custom platform: 5-9 months.

Can you migrate from Shopify / WooCommerce?

Yes — including catalog, customer base, order history, and SEO URL preservation. Migration projects include parallel-running before cutover.

Which payment gateways do you integrate?

Razorpay, PhonePe, Cashfree, PayU for India. Stripe, Adyen for global. UPI, cards, netbanking, wallets all standard.

Do you build mobile e-commerce apps?

Yes — Flutter or React Native, paired with the Next.js storefront. Same backend, shared catalog, unified checkout.

Can you handle subscription billing?

Yes — Veda Milk and Prepe both run on our subscription engine with recurring billing, pause/skip flows, and cycle automation via RabbitMQ.

Do you handle SEO for e-commerce?

Yes — Lighthouse 90+ category pages, structured product schema, sitemap automation, faceted-search SEO. SEO is structural in our e-commerce builds, not an add-on.
