About the Project
DTech New Solution is an IoT-enabled digital meter reading application developed by Xenotix Labs for electricity and water utility companies across India. Field agents use the app to capture meter readings via QR code scan or manual entry, with GPS verification, photo evidence, and instant sync to the billing backend.

Field agents capture readings without internet. Data stored locally in SQLite, syncs to cloud instantly on reconnection.
Every reading is tagged with GPS coordinates to verify the agent was physically at the meter location.

Direct API integration with DISCOM and municipal billing systems for instant invoice generation post-collection.
Automated daily route scheduling optimises field agent paths to maximise readings per day.
The Problem
Utility companies across India still employed paper-based meter reading with frequent data entry errors, billing delays, and no way to verify whether agents actually visited meter locations. Manual data re-entry into billing systems added 2-3 days to billing cycles.
Our Solution
We built a React Native offline-first app with SQLite for local persistence and Room-style sync logic. QR scanning via camera reduces reading time per meter by 70%. GPS verification with a tolerance radius confirms physical presence. A Node.js backend handles bulk sync events and pushes validated readings to billing APIs in real time.
